You vision blurs into a wash of colors and your hearing is overloaded with the sounds of what seems to be a crowd of people, all speaking in a language you don’t understand, though it almost sounds incredibly familiar the more you concentrate on the conversations. Before you can understand it though, it fades away, slowly replaced with the sound of the wind quietly rustling the leaves above you, your own ragged breathing, and the pounding of your heartbeat in your ears.
Slowly, you open your eyes, your vision swims before you before eventually resolving into a view of the grass boarding the spring, dark in the shadows from the trees above. The view of your muzzle – already feeling different than what it should have been – has changed, gone is the red fur with little black nose at the tip, and in its place is a long reptilian snout covered in tiny jewel like emerald scales. Raising your hand to brush at the protuberance, you are partially shocked to see your hand has been similarly changed, identically colored scales trace from across arm and down across the back of your hand and out along your fingers, fingers that are now topped by long almost talon-like claws. Dropping your hand back to the ground, you marvel at how easily you dig deep into the soil; breathing deeply, you can feel your body practically thrumming with the power contained within.
Glancing around, you see Cindy backed against one of the trees at the edge of the clearing. It’s hard for you to read the expression on her face in the shadows, but it almost looks like a bit of fear across the plump cheetah’s face. Struggling to your feet, you realize that you now stand more than a foot taller than her where before the two of you were nearly the same height, one wide wing stretching out with the matching mate spreading the other direction. You give a quick glance down before turning back to Cindy, before a dawning realization draws your gaze back down to your body, revealing another change to your body…
