"Mornin', Boss! Though I guess I'm the boss around here now, huh?" You crane your head upwards, following the cheerful drawl. You follow a brown leg that looks as dense as a skyscraper, and ten times as tall. Your eyes eventually rest on a massive, tan bovine face hovering over you...It's Lily! Despite how impossible--and terrifying--this whole situation is, seeing the friendly cow calms you down a bit, even if she's now a lumbering colossus. Not knowing what else to do, you wave your arms and call out to her.
"Lily! Down here, it's me!" You shout at the top of your lungs, ready to bolt if she doesn't see you. One wrong step, and you'd be reduced to paste under her hoof.
The titanic Jersey cattle answers you with a giggle.
"Already see you, little guy. No need to go and act a fool to get Miss Lily's attention." She leans down and nuzzles you, knocking you on your rump. "Sorry, but I can't lick ya like I usually do--I'd end up eatin' ya by accident!" She chuckles merrily, her sudden human speech matching her bovine personality to a "T".
You pick yourself off the floor, trying to stay composed. Lily may have been affectionate, but at your current size you were essentially defenseless. Despite Lily's lighthearted banter, the image of you being slurped up and swallowed whole makes you cringe. "Lily...what the hell is going on? Why is...everything but you so huge? Why are you talking all of a sudden--no offense--how is any of this even possible?!?" You throw up your arms with a shout, starting to panic. Before you can rant further, Lily rather loudly clears her throat, cutting you off.
"Easy there, buddy. Calm down before ya blow a fuse, alright?" She drawls, sounding both amused and concerned. "I don't have a clue about any of that...not yet, at least. But standin' around yellin' isn't gonna solve anything, right? What we need to do is go 'round the barn and get the lay of the land, so to speak. See if anything else besides you and your folks got tiny. Sound good?" Lily cocks her head and gives you a gentle smile, succeeding in calming you down.
You take a deep breath. "Okay... *sigh* Okay. Right; good idea. Would you mind...er, giving me a ride Lily? I can't exactly cover much ground like...this." Damn, it feels weird asking a cow permission to ride her. But you don't want to risk antagonizing Lily, not even a little bit. Plus, it just seemed polite. And when things got this screwed-up, you could at least rely on manners being a constant.
Lily smiles wider, and answers...
