Eric had been walking home from his last day of school when he wandered into an antique shop. It wasn't the kind that was full of expensive china and flower vases. This shop was filled with strange and mysterious artifacts. Eric had wandered to the back, where there was an old looking spell book sitting atop an old oak table. Its title read 'Book of Enchantments'. As he opened the cover and flipped through the pages, the owner of the store appeared behind him mysteriously.
"Do you like that book, young man?" he asked
"Yeah, it seems cool." replied Eric
"Why don't you take that one on the house." he offered
"What's the catch?" asked Eric, skeptically
"The book is merely a taste. If you desire more artifacts than just the book, then I will offer them to you as a wage for helping me with the upkeep of this old shop." answered the owner
"And if I never come back?" Eric asked
"If the book is enough for you, then I wish you well." replied the owner
"Okay, thanks." said Eric, before leaving the shop with the book
He walked the rest of the way home, and sat on his bed to read through some of the spells.
