This choice: Train with Quake and Slingshot. • Go Back... Exiting the office, you head towards the Playground II, running into Daisy on the way.
"Hey short stuff, you ready for some more training?" Quake asks you.
"There's no way that nickname is sticking..." You said, obviously taller than her.
"Okay, okay... We'll come up with something else..." Daisy said as she was walking with you.
Arriving at the Playground II, you and Quake meet up with a Latin woman speeding across the Playground, destroying hostile training droids with her bare hands. Due to your ability to move extremely fast too, you can see her as more than a b!ur.
"Yo-Yo! Meet the new guy!" Agent Johnson shouted.
The Latina dashed over and stopped in front of you.
"Elena Rodriguez. Codename: Slingshot." She said with an outstretched hand.
"Stuart B. Szalinski. Codename: To be decided.
"According to his power bios, he can give you a run for your money...Literally." Daisy said.
"Oh really... What's the fastest you've ever ran?" Elena asks with her Columbian accent.
"Around 500mph...Burn through shoes like hotcakes at those speeds..." You said.
"Yo Tambien...Los científicos han resuelto ese problema." Yo-Yo said in her native tongue. Translate
Me too...The scientists have solved that problem |
"Bien. Lo último que me gustaría es pisar un Lego® altas velocidades." You replied in Spanish.Translate
Good. Last thing I'd want is to step on a Lego® at high speeds |
"You speak Spanish?" Daisy asked you.
"Plus the other official languages of the UN, and a handful of others." You said.
"Good to know... If we need an interpreter, we know to look for you." Elena said.
"Now, for this training exercise, we're gonna have you push your speed to the limits while Yo-Yo chases you while you're tiny... Athena, bring up the custom setting." Quake said.
"Pending."
The training ground transformed from the blank canvas, to that of an enormous city scaled down to the skyscrapers topping out around toe level.
"Man...You really want me to be tiny, don't you Quake?" You said, seeing a faux cruise sailing in the simulated area.
"Yep!...Can't exactly expand the Playground..." Daisy said.
"If I am to chase him, let me remove my boots. You may be very durable, but I'd imagine that being stepped on by high performance polymer won't be the most comfortable... And my socks too so I can keep traction." Elena said, removing her footwear and socks, leaving her barefoot.
"Sounds like a good idea. Think I'll join you." Quake said, going barefoot as well.
"Alright... Here goes..." You said, focusing on shrinking yourself to match the diminutive size of the hard light civilians.
Daisy and Elena towered above you. The difference in size is monumental. Their pinky toes alone could crush dozens of city blocks. You were standing on the surface of a hard light projected ocean, seeing the tiny city in the distance.
"Athena, Magnify." Daisy said.
A ring of light formed above you, showing your little body below for the two giantesses to see.
"Dios mio...You are crazy tiny now...You could live between my toes at this size..." Elena said, surrounding you with her big and second toe.
The sheer size of her toe gap was insane. It's as if you were in the Grand Canyon again.
"Hey, I just had an idea... If the new guy here can evade getting stomped on by us for an hour, I'll take him out for dinner, my treat... But if he gets stuck under one of our feet, he has to give us a pedicure at his size." Daisy said.
"That sounds like fun. What do you say little man?" Yo-Yo asked you.
"Alright. I'm game...Though this model city will certainly be a challenge for me...If it was a flat open space, I'd feel much more confident." You said.
"Okay... We'll give you 10 yards...Ready when you are." Quake said.
You dashed over to a hologram waypoint, 10 yards away from the two female agents.
"Countdown will begin once you say you are ready, Agent Szalinski." Athena told you.
Prepared for the exercise, you got into a starting position.
"Ready!" You said.
"T-minus 5. 4. 3. 2. 1. Begin!"
You ran full speed, dashing through the simulated urban environment when all of a sudden, you heard and felt a deafening boom. If you had to guess, it was the first footfall of Yo-Yo. Looking back, you could see her sprinting at your direction. She had the same pace as you, which terrified you. You dug deep within yourself to keep ahead of her pursuit.
All was going good, until you saw the oncoming terrain crumble from an unseen force. You then remembered that Quake's power would let her do that, looking towards her to see her outstretched hand as she moved at a sloth's pace from your perspective. This exercise will be far more difficult than you thought.
Do you succeed? indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
