Right away you start to feel tense and scared again. You've never tried to escape before but you can't imagine the store owner will be too happy with you for such a move. As the girl walks into the store you see Maribelle walking out with tears in her eyes, not seeing you in the 'little' girl's hand. You start to quiver in her hand as she approaches the shop keeper.
"Um excuse me, I think one of your pets got out of his cage." she says, presenting you to her.
The shop keeper turns and see you. Noticing how scared you are she gives you a kind smile and gently scoops you out the girl's hand and cradles you in her cupped palms.
"Thank you so much!" she says to the girl, with gratitude in her voice.
You quiver and look up at the shop keeper in fear, worried what she'll do to you.
"Awww the poor little fella is scared to death!" she says, gently stroking your back.
"I know. He got that way right after I brought him back in here. He always seems to calm down when you pet or snuggle him. I think he thinks you're going to punish him for running away." says the girl.
