Lucie, a 22 year old woman

It is a Thursday afternoon and Lucie is busy working in her chemistry lab on a project. Lucie has the lab twice a week and it lasts a couple hours. Lucie is in an advanced chemistry class and she works by herself when in the lab. There are other students but everyone is working independently on their own assignments. Lucie has been working on strange project lately. She is trying to develop a chemical that slows down plant growth, mainly just to see if it is possible. Today she is trying out a new combination of chemicals today and is just about ready to test the mixture. This is the last class of the day for her.

Lucie pours a small amount onto a plant in her lab, then puts the container down. Lucie is not expecting anything to happen immediately and plans to record her results over the next week. About thirty seconds later, something odd catches Lucie's attention. Out of the corner of her right eye, Lucie notices the plant moving. She turns and looks directly at it, and the plant appears to be shrinking. A few seconds later, the plant is half of its normal height. Lucie looks the plant over and everything seems to be alright, just smaller. She then records what happened and takes a moment to contemplate what she just saw. While thinking, Lucie glances up at the clock and notices that her lab time is just about up. Next,
