You keep the device in your pocket and go outside to where the animals were kept. You and your family kept a few kinds of animals: sheep, chickens, goats, dogs, cats and horses.

You figure it'd be best to swap with an animal that couldn't blab about your new device and you wanted to see how they reacted.

From what you understood about the device it could only swap traits between you and something else, not between two other things. Although maybe that was what the mysterious green button did?

You come up the horses and your dogs in their kennel.
