Chapter #5

A comfortable prison.

by: Scifiwizard Retired Author IconMail Icon
You woke up hours later with your entire body aching to find yourself lying under the covers of a single bed in a comfortable bedroom setting. Rubbing the back of your head, you pulled the covers off yourself to find that you were wearing clothing suited for a toddler. A moan escaped your lips as your clothes back home were specially made in styles for a teenager. "I hate wearing this stuff." you muttered, "It makes me feel like a baby."

Pushing yourself off the bed, you walked over to the door, you guessed was the way out. Only the door was locked tight and you noticed a card lock on the wall a little higher up. Looking around, you saw no windows and the only other door lead to a small washroom with a toilet, sink, and shower. "I've been kidnapped." you said, angrily. "Why did I have to answer that phone today!? Even working out with Trevor is better than this."

Just then, the door beeped and you turned to see a middle aged man enter with a small tray of wrapped sandwiches and two large cups of what smelled like hot chocolate. He placed the tray down and sighed, looking at me.

"I'm Major Paul Davis of Homeworld Command." he said, tiredly. "The good news is that the doctors gave us the okay to feed you our food, they examined you while you were out cold." he motioned to the tray. "Sorry its not much, I had to raid the vending machines but its better than nothing and its not half bad."

You looked at the tray but did not move, even though you were starving. "Kidnapping is a crime and so is assault, Major Davis." you blurted out. "Where am I and why are you holding me here!?"

"Easy, now!" scolded the man, looking stern. "First, we had no idea what our sedatives would do to you so a blow to the head was necessary to pacify you. Second, be thankful we detected the opening of the portal before the Lucian Alliance. Third, you are being detained at homeworld command as you may have invaluable information we can use."

You sighed, your anger fading. "Sorry, I'm having a bad day."

Davis nodded. "I've had those myself." he said, sitting down. "Let's start with getting some breakfast in and then I want to ask you some questions regarding your knowledge of Stargate."

As you and Davis shared the cold sandwiches and hot chocolate from the vending machines, you told Davis about the movie that had launched the number of television series. Davis listened carefully and jotted down notes as he asked the occasional question, which you answered.

"So now." said Davis. "Tell me about the Lucian Alliance, as you know it from your television series."

You took a breath. "After the Goa'uld regime went down, much of their resources and technology fell into the hands of the humans they had controlled. Some of these guys banded together and formed the Lucian Alliance, an organization very similar to the Mafia but on a galactic scale. Although humans mostly run the show, the Alliance also has members from other races, including Oranians." you began. "This group is formidable, as I'm sure you've learned from experience but its not not without its weaknesses. The Alliance is largely controlled by mercenaries, smugglers, and other criminals, its leadership is touchy at best, with a lot of conflict at the top. Members live dangerous lives, being killed for the slightest offense or simply when a rival desires their territory. The Alliance rules with fear and intimidation, and punish defiance with swift retribution... this makes them a lot like the Goa'uld."

Davis nodded, taking down notes. "Any idea who their leader is right now?" he asked.

"If I remember right, its a guy named Netan." you replied. "Don't quote me on that, though."

Davis grunted. "anything else you can tell us?" he asked.

"Well, they're headed by a single leader, who divides responsibility, territory, and resources among his 'sconds'." you replied, thinking. "About 20 of these guys take care of things like smuggling, extortion, racketeering, and trafficking in kassa, a corn-like grain that's addictive." you paused. "That's what they use to keep their pee-ons in line."

"Interesting." said Davis, jotting down more notes. "Go on."

"The Alliance has quite an armada of Goa'uld vessels, including Ha'taks, Al'kesh bombers, Death Gliders, and Tel'taks." you continued. "They have spies everywhere. Don't underestimate them, major, they are a credible threat, especially to the Tau'ri and the newly formed Jaffa government."

Davis sighed. "Some of this we already knew but this kassa you speak of, that explains a lot." he said. "I'll let you rest while I make my report." he gave you a smile. "Welcome to our world."

With that, he walked to the door and swiped a card. The door buzzed and opened, allowing him to walk out. "Wait." you said, walking to him. "Don't I get a tour or something?"

Davis roughed up your hair. "I'll see what I can do." he said.

He then walked out, closing the door, sealing you inside. You huffed before walking back to your hot chocolate. "I'll see what I can do." you said, mockingly. you took a sip. "This is good."

Hours later...

You have the following choices:
