As Malon considered who to use the wand on, she had a rather difficult time deciding on who. Most of her customers in town she didn't know too well, or weren't really interesting, and those she did know well were kind of important, and had a job to do. But then, who could she use it on? She looked up at the cows she was feeding, when she hit upon an idea; did the wand also work on animals? And she knew just which animal to test it on.
She ran out to the corral where the horses were being held, and found the young foal named Epona. She was probably Malon's favourite horse, and if Malon was going to try using the wand on an animal, she felt it should be Epona. Although she knew she didn't have to involve herself in the swap, Malon felt it would be appropriate to use herself, considering how much trouble she had deciding on who to swap with in the first place. Now it was just a question of what to swap with her. Maybe she could see what it was like to be a horse by swapping bodies with her.
