"Excellent! Just sign at the bottom here..."
She hands you 5 papers. The first one: Additional monetary compensation in accordance with section 12(35)b in event of unanticipated prolonged or permanent effects...
Not a word of this goes into your head. You just quickly sign them and hand them all to Rosa.
"Alright, just come over here."
"Over here" seems to refer to going somewhere near to the top of the building in an elevator. You walk down the corridor, and arrive in a stainless steel room, in the middle of which lies some machine with two seats on it. On these seats lie two dome-shaped metal thingies with wires and electrodes poking out all over. The only other thing in the room is what looks like their high-tech version of a desktop computer.
Rosa directs you to sit down on one of the seats, marked "1" and to put on the weird hat. You feel a sharp pain, seemingly from all over your body. You try to struggle, but you seem to be limp, paralysed.
"Now, just sit here until the next test subject arrives."
That doesn't take long. Soon, a girl about your age steps in. She too is guided by... wait... Rosa? Perhaps a clone... to sit down. Now's not the time to ask why Rosa appears to have been cloned by these people. Maybe they need to have consistancy. But now's not the time to ask why. Now, Rosa and her clone leave and two old, bald professors step in. Something like out of those horror movies with mad scientists.
One of them rapidly keys commands to the computer-thingy and the other one is busy messing about with the machine-thingy. Now's the time. Now they carry out their evil plan.
You suddenly seem to lose all feeling, a kind of nothingness. You can't move, you can't feel. Not just darkness. At least darkness it something. Nothing.
Now, you feel something rush by. The wire! You're in the wire!
Then, nothing again. Suddenly, feeling rushes back into you. Only... Different. You regain vision, and see yourself sitting next to you. You sense something on your chest, something missing on your crotch. Now, the mad scientists have left the room and Rosa's familiar face stands in front of you.
you evidently have been released from your paralysis. You reach down and feel... Boobs? Now you reach inside your... Panties! And you feel an emptiness. Nothing.
"Thank you for participating! Here's your reward..."
You're in no conndition to accept the money Rosa gives you. You just grab it, and ask, "Can I be swapped back now?"
"No! It says so here..."
Now, you seem to be able to understand. "Process is valid only for one use, subsequently..."
You gasp in shock. Then you stare up at Rosa.
"Of course it can't be reversed! Why would we pay you so much in that case? Body swapping is a major thing, you know!"
She pauses, letting you think for a while, then she continues, "However, we are going to allow you to have time to adapt. We operate very efficiently, you know. We have already notified anybody this may concern, and we know you want to keep your families, so we have already aranged with the government to have both of you exchange.
"You" and you stare in shock. You're stuck. Forever.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
