A few of Julie's friends had suggested that they spend a week, of their summer away from school, camping in Cloudcroft. It was supposed to be Tom, Debra, Joey, and herself heading up. Julie had been put in charge of getting supplies for the trip. She took the money the group had gathered together and went to the store. It was a fairly dull task for her, but she kept thinking ahead to the fun that would be had on the trip. After absently dropping the ingredients for smores into her cart she noticed Joey doing some of his own shopping. She raised her arm in greeting to him. He nodded back, neither one having much to say to each other since they barely talked before. Tom had invited Joey along. Julie finished purchasing the stuff they needed and packed it into her car.
They next day they all met up bright and early in the morning, They had decided to bring two vehicles so that they could fit everything easier and have everyone fit comfortably. It was going to be a long trip and Julie wasn't entirely sure who was supposed to be riding with her. She had hoped it wouldn't be Joey as it would likely be an awkward ride, Debra had planned the seating arrangements though so it could be anyone.
