Ruby grinned at herself in the rearview mirror, adjusting her shoulder-length blonde hair, which was tied back in a loose ponytail. Satisfied with the results of her primping, she pushed open the car door stepped out into the parking lot of the Golden Shores Beach.
Pulling the cooler out of the hatchback of her sedan, Ruby draped her towel over her shoulder and sauntered past the rows of cars to the beach. She winked coyly at the occasional person who struggled to avert their gaze; the vixen's bikini-clad form was probably one of the leading causes of wandering eye syndrome in the city. Not that Ruby minded all that much. Gods knew she needed a break from starched lab coats and jeans now and again.
Ruby smiled and waved as she spotted her group. Crossing the warm sand towards the volleyball net, she plopped down her cooler and spread out her towel near where the other ones had been laid.
"Perfect day for the company picnic," Ruby commented to Glenn, who was standing by the grill wearing dark sunglasses and Hawaiian print trunks.
"I slipped the Sun a $100 so it would actually come out today," he chuckled.
"You know, I wouldn't doubt that for a moment," Ruby snorted.
"Want anything? Hamburger? Hot dog?" the raccoon said. Ordinarily, the CEO would never be caught dead doing anything resembling manual labor, but he was something of a self-professed grill junkie and wouldn't let anyone else near the thing.
"Oh, I'll have whatever," Ruby called over her shoulder, already heading over to see what her other coworkers were up to.
"Sure. One 'whatever' coming up," Glenn said. "Don't forget to have some fun! We're doing some morale-boosting here, you know,"
"Oh, I will," Ruby said.
Fun was certainly something Ruby intended to have. On her way out of the office that morning, the vixen had... misplaced... her section's latest major project. While the Size Modulator was supposed to be in a top-security locker, it had found a home in Ruby's fairly substantial cleavage. As the project had neared completion, Ruby had been ever increasingly intrigued by it. The company picnic seemed the perfect time for a trial run, so to speak.
After a couple of rounds of volleyball, Ruby excused herself, wandering off in the direction of the restrooms, which were located in a small brick building facing the shoreline in the shadow of several large sand dunes.
Stepping behind the restrooms, Ruby pulled out the Size Modulator. She quickly calibrated the device, glancing around furtively to make sure nobody bothered her.
Her hand shaking, she pointed the device at herself,
"Moment of truth," she muttered, pulling the trigger.
Moments later...
