For the first time since she got home, Hayley feels inadequate in her knowledge of magic. "Mom will know what to do" she thinks, as she silently moves away. She finds mom in her bedroom.
"Mom. We're in trouble. Mel is a witch sooner than I thought, and John has been playing around with science minicing magic!" Hayley wails, but to her surprise, mom calmly looks at her.
"Hayley, you're panicking. I wish in a way, John could see this, so he knows we value him as a member of this family. I knew about Mel and John for a while, though both thought they could keep it from me" mom sighs, then continued. "You heard of the 'twin factor'?"
"Yes. Oh my god, are you saying this would happen anyway?"
"Stop panicking. It is a possiblity, but I think I've got a way to deal with it, and to fix any 'rewiring issues'. What do you know about weregirls?"
Hayley pauses. "Are you seriously suggesting that we do that? He'll change every night, from about five pm, to about 6 am, assuming he is rested. Plus 'she' would feel as much a girl as I do while she is female, for six months, or more! Plus we can't tip him off before we cast the spell, or until next morning, overwise he'll certainly fight it."
"It sounds extreme, but I can't think of anything else, unless you want to see your brother slowly go girly. Either that, or use the girl maker, then try to restore girl girl" mom says, sounding regretful.
Hayley says. "I don't want to do either to him!"
"I know. I'll cast the spell or potion myself, leaving you blameless. Tell you what, I'll ask Catherine for her thoughts." Hayley nods gratefully, as she leaves. Minutes later, mom explains the situation to her sister....
An hour later, mom sighs, as she is preparing dinner. Its pizza, though indivisual due to an extra ingredient in yours....
