Jack's life was going great. Ever since he had gotten his new muscular body, his life had turned around. He was a great wrestler as well as a soccer player, in which he had easily won the team their first game. He was the undisputed most popular guy in school, as he hung out with all of the jocks and popular kids but was very nice to the other kids. He also retained his high grades from before the growth, scoring all A's on his report card. His parents, after getting over the initial shock of his new muscle, seemed to be nicer to him and paid more attention to him. His life was somewhat busy, what with wrestling, soccer, school, and homework, but he still managed to have a good amount of free time.
Jack was walking down the hallway and talking to some of his wrestling buddies when suddenly the bell rung, signaling the start of the next class. Jack's two friends left for their own classes, while Jack went in the opposite direction for his. He was walking down the hall when he noticed a flyer on the billboard.
It told about the tryouts for swim team that were going on that afternoon. Jack thought about swimming for a second. His new bulk hadn't seemed to slow him down yet (in fact, it almost definitely sped him up!), and he figured that it shouldn't be much different in the water. Plus, their school swim team hadn't won anything in over fifteen years, so he thought he might be able to help the program out. His mind set on swimming, Jack suddenly realized that he needed to be in class, so he turned and sprinted down the hallway, loose papers flying around from the wind created.
That afternoon after school, many swimmers stood around the indoor pool, waiting for tryouts to begin. Suddenly, the doors flew open, and Jack stepped in. Many of the girls there giggled in excitement, as Jack was wearing only an XL blue Speedo, leaving his glorious muscles uncovered and his bulge clearly outlined. Jack noticed the stares and giggles, but he didn't care, as he figured he deserved a little vanity as long as he didn't get too arrogant.
Finally, Coach Clayson, a dolphin, emerged from his office, and tryouts began. They started by taking a few warm-up laps, which gave Jack a chance to relax a little bit and stretch out his muscles. Finally, Coach called them in and said that they should line up in the lanes and do 25 yard freestyle races.
Jack lined up, being the third person in line, and watched as the first two groups went ahead of him. He focused his mind on swimming as hard as he could, and he was ready and focused as he stepped onto the block for his race. "On your mark... get set..." Jack crouched down into position, as did everyone else in the other lanes.
TWEEEEET!!!
The whistle blew, causing all eight swimmers to dive into the pool, including Jack, who's superior leg muscles, allowed him to get more distance than everyone else. Jack started moving furiously, trying his hardest to impress the coach. Jack quickly smacked his hand on the pool wall and jumped out, still full of energy. He turned back to the pool and saw that none of the other swimmers had even finished yet. He had beaten them by a quarter of the pool, and he wasn't even remotely tired yet!
Coach Clayson walked up to Jack and patted him on the back. "If you keep swimming like that, you'll break state records!" Coach exclaimed before turning back to watch the others swim.
The rest of the practice went great, with Jack clearly outclassing everyone, no matter what the stroke or length of the race. Finally, tryouts ended, and Jack once again made the team. Jack slipped on some shorts and a tank top before stepping out of the school, being surrounded by awestruck swimmers and fangirls before they dispersed. Jack began his short walk towards home feeling like the world was him. If he kept this up, he couldn't even imagine what his life would be like!
