At first, Jack didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the small, blue rock that was wrapped inside of the little, square, cardboard box. After all, to Jack, sending him a small box in the mail containing nothing more than a little blue rock almost seemed like nothing more than a stupid, practical joke. The timing of this whole thing was horrible, mailing him this rock on a day when his parents were out of town, after a horrible day at school when Jack had gotten into three fights at school and ended up hobbling his way home with a bruised leg and a black eye.
Jack walked into the bathroom and examined his eye. He looked bad, and the skin around his eye was all swollen. He was lucky that mom and dad weren't home, or else he would have been grounded by them too. Now, all he had to do is try to recover from all the scars and wounds which he had gotten at school, and hope that he could just defend himself from the bullies during the rest of the week so that he wouldn't get banged up even more! Going to school was no longer a matter of getting an education, it was a matter of surviving and staying alive and getting home in one piece!
Jack grabbed a cloth with some soap and gently rubbed his long, furry nose around his eye. It stung, but at least it seemed like it was healing. Then, he looked down and saw the bruises on his left leg. He had gotten kicked and stomped on a few times, since two thugs tried to beat him up. Cowards! So easy when two guys try to beat up on one lonely anthro fox. It was two against one, so the single guy is always the loser. Jack wished he could become stronger so he could defend himself and others better from these thugs who were making life miserable for him and his friends at school.
Finally, after having spent a few minutes nursing his wounds, Jack walked back to the kitchen counter and sat down in front of the little, square box. He took the blue rock out of the box and placed it in his right paw.
"So, what the heck is this thing for?" Jack sighed. "Why would someone mail me a rock?"
But, while he was holding the rock in his paw, he noticed that the rock began to let off a bright, blue glow of nice, blue light. The light was surrounding the rock on all sides, like it was some sort of precious metal. It was shining like it was some sort of diamond or something.
"Wow! Maybe this thing is worth a lot of money?" Jack wondered, as the glow intensified even more, the longer he held the rock in his paw. "How pretty!"
But the intense blue glow continued to grow, and Jack saw that his paw, then his arm, and then his chest, and finally his entire body began to glow from the same blue light!
"Oh man! Now I'm glowing, too! What is this? It doesn't hurt or anything... It feels nice and soothing to me..." Jack wondered to himself.
The tingling sensation concentrated in Jack's muscles and around his wounds. Jack suddenly felt the healing powers of the rock, and the wound on his leg began to heal, and the swelling in his eye began to diminish quickly. In fact, Jack quickly got up and walked over to the bathroom, where he noticed that the black eye was gone, and his leg was no longer hurting as he was walking on it!
"Cool! I'm feeling fine again! The wounds and scars are gone! I like this!" Jack grinned, as he looked down at the rock in his paw.
But then, he saw something else in the reflection of the bathroom mirror: His muscles were slowly inflating all over his body!
"Heyyyy! Arrgmmm! I'm... getting... stronger!!!!" Jack growled as he flexed his arms. He must have gained about 20 pounds of muscle already, and he was still growing!
His chest was pushing out slowly as his pectorals grew bigger and rounder, making his shoulders ever wider. His biceps continued to increase in size while mighty abs popped up over his torso. His quads were much bigger than before and his calves were already bulging out of the back of his legs!
"Hey! This rock is making my muscles grow! I wonder how big I'm gonna get?" Jack wondered, as his muscles continued to increase in size as he slowly gained 30 pounds... 40 pounds... 50 pounds of muscle...
Jack just stood there, holding the rock in his paw until the growth stopped...
