This choice: A reunion seperated by glass. • Go Back... Jon led me through a maze of halls, all of which looked much the same. It was obvious that I would not find my way back later without any help. We finally stopped at a door, which Jon opened and led me inside. The room had monitoring equipment dominating the far wall with a woman sitting with her back to them, watching the screens. She turned and smiled, seeing Jon and I, but said nothing as she then returned to her work. I turned to my right and found a number of medical supplies as well as a door to a small washroom. Turning to the left, I found a large window that looked into a scarcely decorated bedroom; it was much like my own.
"Why are we here?" curious, I asked.
"To see your sister." simply, Jon replied. "Remember the mirror in your room?"
A gasp escaped my lips as I ran to the window and peered into the room beyond. It was identical to my own room only with toys suited for a little girl against one wall and Aura sleeping in the bed. Seeing her tear stained face, I turned to the woman, accusingly. "Why is she crying?" angry, I demanded.
"She had a rough day." not turning to face me, the woman replied. "We all have them."
"Tommy, this is Lady Sapphire." politely, Jon said. "She is in charge of Aura's care, just as I am in charge of yours." he then turned to Sapphire. "Alpha has declared that Tommy and Aura are now employees."
Sapphire paused then turned to me. "I see..." softly, she said. "Aura was asked to help interrogate a prisoner and caught him in several lies." she sighed then added, "The man jumped Aura and I was forced to kill him in front of her."
"I see..." placing my hand against the glass, I said. "Her first?"
Sapphire nodded then turned to the controls. The lights in the room dimmed and a light above me came on before she then turned to a microphone. "Aura." firmly but kindly, she said. "Aura, you have a visitor."
Aura moaned then opened her eyes, facing the window. Upon seeing me, she leaped out of bed and hurried across the room, leaving a trail of her tears as she almost literally jumped at the window, placing her hand level with my own against the glass, sobbing loudly with me. We were finally reunited for the first time in a long, long year.
"Tommy, I missed you!" crying, Aura said. "Please tell me we're going home!"
"I'm working on it, Aura." honestly, I replied. "We're no longer prisoners, its a start."
Then, I felt a strange charge within me and I saw or thought I saw through the eyes of someone close to my aunt Crystal as I could see her clear as day. Looking in Aura's eyes, I could see she was surprised as well and guessed she felt the same surge of energy. "We must be able to augment each other." curious, I thought "There is no other explanation that fits."
Not wanting to waste any opportunity, I focused hard and tried to send a quick call for help with my mind. I was not expecting it to work, as it never did before, but I was hoping it might this time.
"Your bother has earned him and you a little freedom." said Jon, still in the shadows of the room. "You are no longer prisoners, its true, however..." he stepped into the light as I was finishing my mental call for help and placed a hand onto my shoulder, causing me to scream in fight. "There is no escape."
"May I please be with her?" begging, I asked Jon. "If only for a few moments?"
"You may sit next across from each other during breakfast tomorrow morning." pulling me away from the window, Jon said. "This will give you both something to look forward to and an incentive to behave."
With that, Jon removed me from the room. Later that day...
