A bead of sweat formed on your forehead. You took a step back.
"I hope you aren't thinking of doing anything.... stupid." Ruby said. "But since you're here in the first place..."
You didn't even let her finish. You turned on your heel and sprinted to the window, sheathing your sword. You went into a swan dive-style leap of faith. The ground was rushing toward you, and you got ready to convert your momentum into a forward roll. You timed it, timed it and you managed to half perform the somersault , but your back took a lot of the hit, and the energy went into your leg, slamming it into the ground. Your leg had been hurt, although at the moment, you weren't quite able to diagnose what type of injury you sustained, only that you couldn't walk, and your back was in bad shape, as well as most of your right side.
Ruby's head appeared out the window and she taunted you, "I see you WERE thinking of doing something stupid. However, my guards thank you for saving them the trouble of a chase!"
You, however, are far too stubborn to not give them a run for their money! You turned onto your left side and tried to get up, making a Herculean effort. No way would these injuries keep you down!
As the pain shot up your back, you realized that the injuries would indeed keep you down. At least 10 minutes passed, and you thought of what course of action would be best for this situation. Immobilized and in pain, you heard footsteps approaching you. You looked up and saw none other than Ruby and her elite guard, ambling towards you, chatting and laughing about the idiot who jumped out the third story window. You remembered Ruby's taunt and thought, "If I can't give them a run, I can at least give them a fight!"
With every muscle in your body straining, you managed to pull yourself into a sitting position, and finally worked onto your knees. One of the guards raised an eyebrow, while Ruby watched you intently. You drew your sword and prepared to make a heroic last stand! Ruby sighed, but then smiled. She seemed genuinely impressed by your determination.
"One of you give me a sword, let me handle this."
Ruby brandished her blade and swept under your own, flinging it to the side, but you tenaciously held on to your sword. However, Ruby stepped on your wrist. With a sigh of resignation, you released the sword, and she kicked it away. She turned back to her elite women and returned the blade she had borrowed and ordered two of them to pick you up.
You stood haphazardly, your arms around two of the girls who lent you support. Ruby walked up to you and delicately lifted your face, making you look her in the eyes. Then, she spoke to you, saying....
