Smiling and nodding your thanks to Helix, you walk over to the barracks and head inside, finding yourself surprised and more than a little delighted to find that the bunks are co'ed as you see male and female members of all different types of units preparing for training, talking with each other and just getting a little rest and relaxation. Looking around at the bunks for an empty one, you see plenty of personal items around. Holy symbols, card decks, musical instruments, cooking utensils, shields with noble insignias, and large tomes were just some of the things that could be seen at one bunk or another.
"Wow." You thought, "Coninze really adds all types of people into their ranks." Finally finding an empty bunk, you plopped your knapsack down at the foot of the bed and dropped down on to the bed, which was comfier than you would have thought a soldier's bed would have been. Kicking off your boots, you figured you probably should have head over to the armory and got fitted up with the necessary armor and weapon for training, but your traveler's clothes were so comfy. Even if it was admittedly, not much protection against attacks. You were about to get up when you noticed some soldiers in commoner's clothes several rows over. There was a man with thick black hair, tanned skin and dark brown eyes, as well as a blonde woman with bright blue eyes and fair skin. They were whispering quickly to each other and occasionally glancing over at you. You close your eyes and attempt to hear what they're saying but they're too far away. You only manage to hear the girl say: "-to join the Cult-" but the man seems to be cutting her off anyway. Like he doesn't want to be overheard. They seem to notice that you're looking at them at that point, and with one last glance at you, they head out the door opposite the way to the armory and training field.
You're a bit conflicted. On one hand, you really should get to the training field to start practicing. You don't want to give off the impression of having a lazy or insubordinate attitude so soon after you got here. On the other hand, this 'Cult' was curious. Coninze might have valued freedom and new ideas, but this cult seemed to be in the shadows of even here. It seemed like they'd taken at least a passing interest in you, and that was enough that you should probably investigate, but if it wasn't right now, they might slip through the cracks and you might not find them again. They were heading out the door, so you had to choose now!
