The creature hefts you over its shoulder and heads down the nearby corridor, but not before you palm a small sliver of frozen bone from the cell floor!
You quickly tear up from the stench, using every ounce of your strength to keep from vomiting, as the great beast shambles through what turns out to be a huge labyrinth of hewn-ice tunnels and galleries.
You pass several cells similar to your own, containing other men and women similarly chained and utterly exhausted, most of them foreigners to the area, like yourself.
Eventually the yeti brings you into a smaller chamber, busy with all manner of vials and gurgling flasks.
The hulking monster drops you roughly onto a sort of chair of glossy, black stone, latching your wrist chain to the top of a jagged, stone pillar, rising from the back of the chair. Then the creature clumsily unlocks your ankles from the manacles and attaches them to another set of manacles at the forelegs of the chair into which you've been thrown, so that you are bound with your arms taut over your head, and your legs spread slightly with your feet hovering several inches over the frosted floor.
Then the creature yanks your boots from your feet, tossing them carelessly into the corner of the room, before giving you a final you sure do look like a fine meal look, and returning down the hall from whence you'd come.
You shiver instinctively, flexing your toes to warm your unshod feet, and take a long look at your surroundings.
The place has every indication of being an alchemist's sanctum, but your eyes fall upon a set of ominous anatomical diagrams pinned to a nearby board, highlighting, coincidentally you assume, each of your most ticklish spots in bright red ink. Notes in an unknown language are scribbled under each of the highlighted spots.
A fine sheen of icy sweat begins to gather on your body, as you maneuver the splinter of bone you'd palmed into position. Time to pick these locks!
