a red beam shot out of the ray gun she was holding and it went right to you. a sensation of feeling less and less weighted down came over you as the shrinking took its affect. when it was all over you are now smaller than a grape, just about 1 centimeter tall compared to Jane. Jane stares on at you with a big triumphant grin. "wow, it really works!" she says raising a fist in the air. though she is a bit concerned now. "i can barely see you now though." she walks towards her work bench and sits in a chair in front of you. you are quite unsure how to feel about this now. she told you you have nothing to worry about for being this small but you are starting to have second thoughts about what she said. she rested her arms on the desk in front of you and looked down at you. you look up at her baby blue eyes, she sighs and says, "i'm sorry for doing that with out asking you first. it was rather rude of me to just do that to someone i just met, especially when they are your size." you take a look around and see that you truly are very tiny now, if she keeps you like this, surviving could prove to be challenging. you see her face now all strewn with guilt and can't help but reassure her that it wasn't all that bad. "well i do feel a bit more vulnerable now that i'm this small but then again, hiding me from others that you don't want me to see could be easier."
she smiles sheepishly at you and says. "yeah i guess you are right though i don't want you to feel unsafe or uncomfortable with this new size. because..." she pauses and looks away. "i.. still haven't figured out how to make it do the opposite of that. you know, grow things?" you feel a bit uneasy but brush off the fear seeing as Jane hasn't been hostile or too reckless with you. you walk up to her hand and rub your extraordinarily small hand on her soft short fur. "its ok Jane. i'm not mad and i shouldn't be afraid of this. i'm sure things will work out." you tell her. Jane picks you up and gently hugs you to her cheek. "thank you tyler for being so patient with me on this. i promise i'll make this thing have a growing function as soon as i can!" says your friend as she points at the ray gun next to her.
she is now laying in bed, though not flat a bit up right on some pillows, with you placed on her stomach. she's trying to get to know you. "do like to..." she ponders for a moment searching for a question. Jane then gets an idea and asks, "oh i know, do you like to study science and figure out if an experiment is going to work?" she asked excitedly. "well, not as much as you i'm afraid. i couldn't build a shrink ray but i can tell what a plant may need if its wilting. thats about all the science i really know. like growing plants and things. well..." you pause as you look off into space. "i used to before i ended up here. Jane looks at you tenderly, "aww i'm sorry that this happened like this for you. so unexpected. i really don't know how you could have just ended up here and i know you don't either." she says. you both are silent for a bit. "well i guess its something i'll have to figure out one of these days." she says with delight. "this all just seems so magical and mysterious. i'm so fascinated now." you smile at her gleeful grin. "i guess this kind of stuff really interests you?" you say lightheartedly. "oh you bet it does. i've always been super curious about everything." she looks at you a little more compassionately "and i do enjoy learning more about you." she says lightly poking you. grasping her finger you smile up at her and ask her, "um Jane what do you think of me so far?" you ask. she responds with...
