Your name is Anthony and you're 16 years old. It's the last day of high school, and while your peers go off to hang out with their friends and do fun activities, you have other plans. You're going to go on your computer to play games, read stories, and look at art. It wasn't that you hated the outdoors or something, but you like to escape from reality into other worlds through technology.
"Man," you say to yourself while walking home. "I wish I could actually go into other worlds!" Little did you know that your dream would come true...
Stepping into your house, you look around to find it completely empty. Your parents must still be working, you figure, and your siblings are probably having fun outside. This is perfect! No one will come home for a while and distract you, so you have some time to yourself. You head upstairs, enter your bedroom, and sit down at your computer. It is a modestly powerful desktop PC that you built and funded yourself. You certainly don't regret working that summer job last year.
You boot up the computer, and start looking for a game to play when you notice something peculiar on your desktop. It's an icon of a non-distinct planet called "World Maker." You don't remember downloading any programs with that name. Oh no, was this some kind of computer virus trying to trick you? You start scrolling your mouse down to click the anti-virus icon when curiosity gets the better of you.
Clicking on the World Maker program brings you to a basic menu, with only a button labeled "Create New World" and a list of "Worlds." You click on the button and find several new options to choose from, as well as a search bar appearing at the top. The options are:
- Preset Worlds
- Make World From Scratch
- Fictional Worlds
- Randomized Worlds
"What the hell does this program even do?" You mutter out loud. "Well, there's only one way to find out." Will you click on one of the World options, or perhaps you'll learn what the search bar is for?
