You slowly turn to see the person holding the same packet of Rainbow Drops that you brought home. You shiver as you see your mother shaking the small bag in her hand, as if to taunt you.
"Mom, can I have those sweets back?"
"Why?" Your mother asks, "What's wrong with them?"
"They're my sweets!"
"Oi! Mind your manners!"
"Please Mom! Just give them back!"
"As long as I can pinch one first."
"You can't!"
"Why not, young man?"
Believing that you will not win this arguement, you let out a big sigh. "I can't tell you."
"Are they magic?" she asks, to your horror. "It says by hear that they can grant my wishes! Sounds like a laugh!"
You cringe as your mother places a pink drop in her mouth and makes a wish. "I wish I had long hair again." Suddenly you watch as her brown hair grows to a great length. She notices, and is in shock. She looks at the packet in disbelief, but then develops a smile on her lips.
"Okay mom, you made your wish, now can I have them back, please?"
To your disarray, she pulls out a yellow drop from the packet. "One more couldn't hurt, couldn't it?" She suddenly notices the look of anguish on your face. She places the drop in her mouth and makes another wish.
