It was none other than your father, David Burton. He was eyeing the bag of Rainbow Drops in his hands before he pulled a red one of the bag.
Looked nervously at your father and gulped. After standing there for a minute you decided to speak up.
"Hey Dad, looks like you found the candy I brought home."
You chose your words carefully. The last thing you wanted was to upset your father and wind up being dragged to your father's job. It was already annoying enough that he lectured you on being responsible.
You already dislike that your dad disaproves of Jack's goal of being an indie punk rockstar and your plans to go to Europe despite not having the funds to do so.
Your father had already consumed the red Rainbow Drop. He then turned towards you and grinned.
"Hey Eddie, these are your? Too many sweets are bad. But, there's something I want to discuss with you."
You start feeling compelled to listen to tour father despite knowing you just want your Rainbow Drops back.
"Your mother and I have been discussing your future plans and we both agree that they don't seem well planned. If you plan on moving to Europe what are your plans and career goals?"
Your thoughts began stirring. Previously unthought of consequences such as paying rent, having a job, and career plans weighed heavily on your mind.
"I don't know. I just want to move out," You said.
Your father shakes his head. "Don't be like Jack whi has no plan foe his life. Half the time I wonder where I went wrong as a father. Sometimes I wish that you and Jack would think things through. The idiotic decisions you make today can impact your life. Just like your un..."
Your father stopped himself mid-sentence. You looked on as he wiped away a tear rolling down his cheek. Your father then grabbed a yellow Rainbow drop and consumed it."
"I just wish I was the father you guys could aspire to. Someone you can have fun with and learn from."
