Hikari groaned and whimpered as she swallowed down the rushing stream of sweet liquid. Her belly stretched further and further before her, its growth, and the ensuing growth of her body, seemingly as unstoppable as the torrent of fattening fluid from above...
Thankfully the enchantment she had placed on her stomach's capacity was holding out, but the more complex spells that altered her metabolism were already failing. Soon she would be gaining the full brunt of the weight the trap's designer had intended her to, and as her skin grew cold and the sweat on her body began to dry, Hikari knew that her quest might already be a failure...
"No..." She thought to herself, squeezing her eyes shut, "I've never failed... There's always a way... There has to be!"
Hikari gazed up at the stream flowing through the hole above her, and as she felt her body chill an idea struck her.
Closing her eyes in concentration, Hikari began to channel her energies once again into the palms of her hands, the air around them beginning to mist with cold...
Opening her eyes suddenly, the woman focused her gaze upon the hole above, sending a rush of frigid air up towards the opening. As it traveled along the stream of liquid, the flow froze in mid-air, forming a thick column of ice that ran all the way up to the gap from which it spilled. Hikari spat out the last of the stream before it could travel down her throat and gasped for air, her body tingling with adrenaline and relief.
She'd done it.
The Battlemage wasn't completely free yet though, but if she was correct then the trap would have been designed around a series of time-dependent enchantments. All she needed to do was wait...
About ten minutes later the runes ensnaring Hikari's arms blinked out, and the mage slumped to her hands and knees. Wiping the liquid from her mouth with her wrist, Hikari caught her breath and stood, just as the doors leading out of the trap chamber unsealed and slid open once more. The Battlemage had survived the first of the Lipomancer's terrible traps, and though she hadn't escaped entirely unscathed, she was still lucky, all things considered...
Brushing herself off, Hikari glanced back the way she had come, then moved forwards towards the next room. There was no way she was turning back now. Fatigue began to set in as she moved forwards, more due to the energy her spell-casting had expended than the weight she had gained, but she was now more determined than ever to see her quest for riches through. Stepping over the threshold of the door, Hikari looked about the next chamber and saw something she didn't expect, but wasn't all too surprising given what she knew about the Lipomancer's... tastes...
