Amy decided that joining Dr. Eggman was dangerous. So, she declined and moved on. It was ironic because she already helped him with Sonic.
It was even more ironic when the following day, robots took over the Earth, led by a half-robot Sonic. And when she attempted to use the necklace, it was too late. A robot caught her demonstrating free will and arrested her, but not before destroying the necklace in a skirmish.
The robots were being controlled by Dr. Eggman. Now Emperor Eggman. Of the world.
Emperor Eggman visited Amy in her cell and told her he was sorry she didn't join him. But now she didn't have a choice.
As Emperor Eggman turned around, robots came into Amy's cell and injected her with something. She became half-robot almost instantly herself and walked over to Emperor Eggman. She bowed to him and said, "I am yours to command, Emperor Eggman."
Emperor Eggman smiled at this. With Amy's free will gone, Eggman ruling the world and no necklace, the story doesn't seem to end sunny side up.
