You scanned the people coming towards you and selected your Uncle Bernard. He was a fairly large man but didn't draw much attention to himself. He was also mostly quiet during gatherings and preferred to either sit silently besides his wife, your Aunt Janet, or to watch as the children played. This wasn't to say that he was unintelligent, indeed he was one of your smarter relatives holding a PhD, it was just that he preferred to observe than to participate, making him an ideal choice for you first possession as it would be very easy to masquerade as him.
You flew over behind him as he slowly made his way to your parents car, lagging just a little behind his wife and with a moment of hestitation, you walked into his back, phasing into his flesh.
After a brief blackout, you opened your eyes and found yourself looking into your aunt or now your wife's concerned face.
"Bernard, are you all right? You would have tripped just now if you hadn't held on to me."
Opening your uncle's mouth you reply with his deep voice, "I'm fine Janet, juat had a brief dizzy spell."
Smiling in relief, your aunt turns ariund and starts walking towards your mother, who is now your sister-in-law. Taking the moment to get yourself together, you breathe deeply and feel your uncle's powerful muscles contracting and expanding as you do so. You feel the greying beard and mustache on your face, enjoying the silky texture. You look at your large hands and make a fist comparable to the size of your own body's head. It feels so good to have a body again after being a ghost for so long and you relish every moment of it, especially since this isn't your own body.
After greeting your father who is now your brother, all of you go back in to your grandparents house but as you trail along behind the rest, your old body sidles alongside you and gives you a knowing wink. You wink back and prepare to have what promises to be the most enjoyable family gathering.
