Chapter #4A female kitsune. by: Unknown Felix could tell from the voice that echoed throughout the cell that the kitsune was indeed a female.
"I shall ask again, what is your purpose here?" The kitsune said, though no other emotion besides curiosity was portrayed in the voice. That startled Felix out of his trance at studying the creature before he shook his head to clear it.
"I...I'm to give you food and water...during...during your...um..." Felix started to say before he came to a problem. Obviously this kitsune was intelligent. What would be the best word to use here?
"My imprisonment?" The kitsune said, finishing Felix's sentence. Felix nodded and the kitsune started to laugh again. "Well hurry up, I won't bite you. You haven't tried to harm me anyways." The kitsune said as it uncurled and stood up to it's full height, around ten feet, twelve feet tall. Felix just sort of pushed the cart close to the kitsune, not wanting to get any closer. "What's the matter? Are you...afraid of me?" The kitsune said to the young boy.
"T-truthfully? Y-you are kind of...well..." Felix started to say before the kitsune finished his sentence again.
"Intimidating?" The kitsune said, causing Felix to nod his head. The fox glowed suddenly with a light, and within that light the kitsune started to shrink until it became roughly the size of Felix himself, and sitting before him in appropriate bits of cloth covering certain areas sat a young girl with white fox ears and two tails swinging back and forth behind her. "This better?" The girl said to a dumbfounded Felix. The girl laughed a little at his reaction. "You humans are so easily amazed." The girl said before one of her tails shot out towards Felix and gripped his arm tightly. It took Felix a little while to react and started to try and pull the tail off of him. "Come on! I want to talk!" The girl said as the tail dragged Felix closer. Once he got close enough, the girl's other tail tripped his feet from underneath him, causing him to fall on his rear, and before he could react, a wall of blue-white fire appeared behind him. "Now you won't be able to leave!" The girl said as she used some of the same blue-white fire to sear the raw meat till it was cooked and bit into it. Felix stared back at the girl before she looked back up at him and held out some of the cooked meat. "Want some?" The girl said.
Felix didn't see what could go wrong, so he reached out and took the piece of meat from her and bit into it. It tasted better than the scraps they were fed! Felix began to rapidly eat the piece he was given. Felix and the other slaves were only fed enough to survive, and that was once a day. Seeing this the girl laughed, and Felix looked up at her. "S-sorry...about earlier...it's just..." Felix started to say.
"You've never met another creature before that wasn't going to hurt you?" The girl said, again finishing his sentence for him.
"How do you do that?" Felix asked her suddenly.
"Do what? Finish your sentence? Easy, I'm just guessing!" The girl said with another laugh before cooking another piece of meat with her fire.
"Oh...um...miss kitsune?" Felix started to say before the girl looked at him.
"Look, I know that by human years alone I may be older than you, but compared to my race I'm about your age anyways. My name is...well...hm. How would one pronounce it in the human tongue?...Well, I guess you can just call me Inari for now, until I can figure out a way to pronounce my real name in the human tongue." The girl, wanting to be called Inari, said to Felix, and he nodded.
"Inari...how did you...well...get captured?" Felix asked her tentatively. The girl paused before she said anything.
Then she opened up her mouth. "It was because I..." indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
