As Ash begged Pichu to let him go, Pichu decided to do so, yet, due to the fact it was a baby, it didn't know that Ash meant on the ground instead of over it's mouth. Thinking it complied with the trainer's wishes, Pichu dropped Ash while it was above it's mouth
