"I wish you luck. Starting a new life is probably hard enough, but you're in an unfamiliar body, with no one who would recognize you..." The prince began before an idea occurred to him. "I could write a letter of introduction that should get you accepted as a courtier. I can say you had a personality clash with my sister. It would certainly be believable, and I'm sure I could convince Ori to back it up too. Though I can already imagine what her price would be..."
The transformed king looked back at Kelos with surprise. "You'd do that?"
"It's little trouble to write a letter."
"Thank you, I didn't expect you to be so magnanimous in victory. I cannot say I would have been."
"Well, to be fair, I wouldn't have needed a letter of introduction. I wouldn't need to hide my identity, I'd still be recognized if I returned home as a woman."
Arthras raised a brow at this. "How do you know?"
"Long story, boring story, I'm sure you have neither time nor patience to hear it. I have a letter to write, you wanted to leave before anyone sees you. Did you have any idea of where you wished to go?" Kelos replied, changing the topic.
"No, I haven't given it much thought. Perhaps someplace in the Northlands?"
"Have you ever been to Cresselfurd? Prince Bosley is a good friend of mine. It'll make things much simpler if I write to him."
"No, my duties as king have prevented me from traveling far from home. I've heard it's a beautiful country."
"One of the nicest I've visited, though quite frigid in the winters."
"Very well, if you would be so kind as to write the letter, I will make it my first stop."
"You'll need a new name too. Have you given it any thought?"
"Arabella," the transformed king replied without a moment's hesitation.
"Of course, Lady Arabella," Kelos replied. "Though I didn't expect you to reply so quickly. Have... Have you been planning this all along?"
The newly named Arabella simply winked at Kelos. "Really Prince, you should know sometimes a lady has secrets she wishes to keep a secret."
"I can relate better than you know," the prince said as he retrieved a pen and quill to begin drafting the letter.
