Kelos, astonished that Arthras was able to do such a thing, hesitated for just a moment and that was all that was needed for her to lose the chance to speak.
"Princess Fia?" Arthras asked, adding uncertainty to his voice to seem as if though she was meeting Fia for the first time.
"Yes," Princess Fia nodded. "Who are you? What are your names?"
"I'm..." Kelos began before being cut off by Arthras. "I'm Princess Ariella, and this is my sister, Princess Kellia."
"...Princess?" Princess Fia tilts her head inquisitively at Arthras.
"Yeah, King Arthras is our daddy!" Arthras exclaimed, pointing her finger at herself.
Kelos could swear that she could see Princess Fia's jaw drop to the floor, trying to say something, but the only thing that came out of her mouth were brief stutters. After what seemed to be an eternity, she finally recomposed herself before saying, "W-what?"
"Yeah, that's what our mommy told us!" Arthras continued, smirking silently at the lies that she was twisting to protect her daughter, "She said that we were b... b... bas... something children."
"Bastard children?!" Fia exclaimed, cupping her mouth with her hands.
"Yeah! That's it." Arthras was pleased that Fia picked up on the word so quickly.
"And... and where's your mommy?" Fia asked her with worrying eyes.
"She... she died." Arthras replied, throwing in a fake sob as she covered her eyes. "Daddy invited us to live with him, but we can't find him!"
Arthras secretly grinned. Now, not only did she prevent the marriage with his worst enemy, but she also prevented her from leaving the castle to get help.
"Oh my..." Fia gasped. "That bast... excuse me. My anger got the best of me for a moment there. Come with me, my dear little sisters. I cannot leave you two here alone. Let's go to my room, okay?"
"Yeah!" Arthras replied, enthused. This went even better than she expected it to. Kelos, on the other hand, was not pleased. She decided to...   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
