Xarlat successfully swaps the boy into Kelos's now pregnant filly. And swaps himself into the boys so he is better able to follow Kelos. Xarlat, with his twisted thinking believed that life as a royal is better than life of a peasant. Even if it was one of a royal female horse.

The boy, now a horny pregnant mare, was not completely aware of the change until Xarlat in the boys body prodded him into another section for further breeding. Xarlat smiled maniacally (an odd sight on a young peasant boy) and left the room to follow Kelos.
