Prince Kelos calls his companions around in a circle, "Once I have married Princess Fia, then we can end the suspicion that abounds between our two kingdoms." His guards and companions approve of the simplicity of the plan. Some are a little envious, as Princess Fia, is a willowy blonde, who has the ear of Marlin the wizard. Her beauty has been magically enhanced and maintained. Thoughts of how he would enjoy bedding the princess make him smile.
However, the plan gives Xarlat a simple solution to interfere. He chuckles quietly to himself, as he considers how it will make the vain little prince suffer. He prepares to cast his spell. As he releases the magic, all the movement around the campfire slows down until it stops. Xarlat sees it going to work. He watches as Prince Kelos becomes Princess Keela, a stunningly beautiful brunette, with impressively large breasts, and counterbalanced by an equally magnificent ass. Two of her companions also change sex, it would be inappropriate for a princess to travel without a lady in waiting, and a chaperon. Xarlat feels like torturing the new Princess, and allows her to keep her old male memories, but leaves the rest of the world with the idea that she was always a head-strong princess.
He sees subtle changes in some of the objects around the group, and realises that the magic has changed the saddle on his back. To a more demure side-saddle better designed to suit a princess. Xarlat walks over to rejoin the other horses, and watch the results as the flames start moving again until they are at normal speed. He watches as Keela suddenly starts groping her new breasts and panicking. Her male companions find an excuse to look away, although some are a little slow in turning their heads away.
The lady in waiting shakes her head in disapproval, while the chaperon tutts her disagreement.
Keela wails to the sky, "I'll never marry Fia, now."
