Contacting Jake

I clicked on the contact labeled "Jakey 💘". Scrolling up a bit, it looked like the two were trying to make plans to get dinner at a thai place near campus tonight. Unfortunately for them, those plans are most certainly by the wayside.

After snooping for a little bit, I remembered what I was actually doing. I needed to figure out who I am, where I live, and what adjustments need to be made. I started texting "Jake," but I often ended up just backspacing and deleting my entire message. This was an incredibly abnormal situation I, as seemingly everyone else was in, after all. Eventually I came up with something. It may not be the most normal text message to send or recieve, but what even is normal right now?

"Hello, this is Damian Kremer. I am a 16 year old male from New Jersey. I was eating lunch with my friends, when suddently I was here in LA, inhabiting the body of a young woman whom I do not know. I understand that you may be in a similar situation to me, but on the off-chance you were unaffected by this strange event, I figured I'd reach out and ask for clarity on who I might be."

After waiting for roughly five minutes, a response came.

"Hello Damian. Unfortunately, I am almost just as confused as you are. I am a student here at UCLA, so maybe I could help you navigate the area, but otherwise everything is about just as foreign for me as it is for you. No more than a half an hour ago I was headed to my Biology class, when suddenly I was in a completely different body. If you have any sembelence of where you are, you should let me know. We can try to meet up and figure out what might be going on."

I looked at my surroundings. Unmistakably, there was a gorgeous brick structure about two stories high with a somewhat domed central piece to top it off. I looked around for a sign, and sure enough, it was the school library.

"It looks like im outside of Powell Library, if you know where that is. Do you just want to meet up here?"

"Yeah, thats fine. I'll see you there soon."

Eventually, I see the someone who looks exactly like the boy on the lock screen approaching, so I waved him over. He soon noticed me, and approached wit a hand out as if looking for me to shake it.

"Damian, I presume? I'm Carmen. I'm a junior here at UCLA. Or well, I was. I think we should probably figure out where to bunker down. me and my roommates do leave a spare pair of keys outside in case anything were to happen, so thats one option, I suppose we could also try and hunker down in an enclosed room somewhere on campus, as well. There are actually a few of those here in the library that they loan out to students for test taking or private study. Of course, if you have any other ideas, feel free to voice them."
