You knock it out of Marla's hand

You jump at Marla to grab the wand but accidentlly knock the wand out of her hand. The wand flies through the air and hits the ground releasing a flash of light. Dave looks around frightened of what the wand might have changed. Would he even be able to realize it? What happened?
