This choice: Bianca chooses Snivy, Cheren gets Oshawott, Hilda gets Tepig. • Go Back...Chapter #6Bel's Pick: Snivy by: Unknown Bianca looked carefully at each of the Pokémon and made her pick.
"I'll take this one!" She picked up the Snivy, who looked at her and smiled. Hilda was petting the Tepig and Cheren decided on Oshawott.
"Then it's settled," said Cheren. "So, anyone up for a battle?" Hilda and Bianca looked at each other for a few seconds and then heard growling. Bianca then piped up "Can it wait? I need breakfast first." Hilda agreed. "Yeah, Cheren. Let's pick this up later." Cheren, however, had another idea. "How's this sound? If one of you can beat me, I'll buy breakfast for both of you." The girls looked at each other and their Pokémon. Hilda's Tepig may be weak against Oshawott, but Snivy isn't.
Just then, a Purrloin walked in and nuzzled against Cheren's leg. Cheren then had another idea. "Change of plans," he said. "Looks like this little guy wants to join me. We'll make it a double battle. Same rules; you win, I'll buy breakfast."
The girls agreed and went outside. As they did so, they checked the moves and genders of the four Pokémon. Of those four, Tepig was the sole female.
Bianca started the battle by having Snivy use Leer on Purrloin to lower Defense, but Purrloin used Growl and lowered Snivy's attack to cancel the effect. Hilda had Tepig use Tackle; it hit Oshawott, but he countered with Tail Whip, lowering Tepig's Defense. Tepig herself was hit with a Tackle, and hard at that. Hilda panicked, and Bianca was worried that Snivy couldn't handle himself. Purrloin then attempted Scratch, but Snivy dodged. He then used Leer and hit his mark. Hilda got back in the game right as Oshawott used his Water Gun. Hilda commanded Tepig to dodge, but she was still reeling from Tackle. Snivy intercepted the attack and the two switched opponents. Bianca had Snivy use Vine Whip, bringing Oshawott down in one blow. Cheren was now the one getting nervous. He had Purrloin use Assist; Water Gun came out. Tepig was hit, but was still standing. In fact, her ability Blaze kicked in. Hilda had her use Ember, which hit Purrloin dead-on and knocked him out. The girls jumped for joy for a few seconds to celebrate their win, jiggling wildly as they did.
"Great job," Cheren said. While he was happy for them, he was a bit disappointed in himself for losing. "Alright, looks like I owe you both breakfast." As they headed to the nearest restaurant, Hilda added, "Make sure there's plenty of pancakes!" "And eggs!" Bianca chimed in.
Later at the restaurant, the girls were stuffed full after their feast. Cheren had plenty of money on him, so paying was no issue.
"Thanks, Cheren." Bianca said. "My tummy's never been this full, ever." Bianca playfully patted herself. Hilda, meanwhile, was nearly asleep, with her hands resting just below her chest. Cheren just looked on, wondering how these girls haven't exploded yet. "No problem, Bianca," he said.
