Sonic was once again finding himself fighting Dr.Eggman as usual, and beating him as usual.
Eggman had thought of a different plan this time, even though he was getting beaten again; he wanted to lure the hedgehog into his trap, using the master emerald to set off a chain of explosions that would send Sonic to his grave (this time).
Meanwhile, Rouge the Bat was on her own little mission; to steal the master emerald from Eggman (of coarse), but little does she know what Eggman was planning.
KABOOM!
Sonic gets off guard by the explosions, but still tries to escape when he sees Rouge.
The blast was closing in fast and Sonic pushed Rouge into a crack in the wall, saving her but dieing in the process.
But something odd had happened, when the blast hit Sonic; his soul had been thrown out of his body, and it landed on Rouge.
Sonic had little idea of what happened (unknown to him that he has Possessed Rouge) and blacked out as the rest of the blast roared through the tunnels.
