Chapter #32

Group Advantages

    by: Seuzz Author IconMail Icon
You don't want to get stampeded into a choice, especially if it's a shiny lure when you should be looking at someone (or set of someones) who could confer serious advantages. It seems safer, or at least it makes for more flexibility, if you look at the possibilities as a "group" that you can infiltrate. Then you can at least be sure of picking up certain advantages that would be nice to have while focusing on the more particular advantages of certain individuals.

Take, for instance, Chelsea's suggestion some time back that you pick Geoff Mansfield or Anthony Kirk or Martin Gardinhire as a second face. They all have something in common: they come from wealthy families who belong to the country club, and they all take AP classes and are on track to attend Ivy League universities. If it comes to making choice there, you know the basics of what you would be getting. It's just a matter of figuring out which particular asshole it would be the most fun to be.

Same thing with another of Chelsea's suggestions, that you be one of the incoming cheerleaders. There are lots of ways of playing the game there. Do you wait until Chelsea has picked two replacements, and then choose from them? Or do you pick someone so Chelsea will be sure to pick one that you like? Or do you pick Kim Walsh, so that you can be sure that the JV expansion goes through? After all, maybe you will want to be one of the JV cheerleaders instead.

Then, when Chen leans over to bite your ear and murmur, "Hang out in the loft until I have to go to work?" he raises another possibility. Steve Patterson has access to the loft, and you keep having to dodge him. Aside from the fact that Patterson would make an attractive puppet in just the way that Chen does, it would be a great convenience if he was one of your golems so that you wouldn't have to pussyfoot around him when using the loft. The same for anyone else who has or would have access there.

You have the following choices:

1. Some rich, country-club type

2. Someone related to the squad expansion

3. People with access to the loft
