Is that a switch?

I climbed up and, surprised at my own strength, had no trouble finding purchase on the holes in the wall, and getting up.
Now that I was up, I found a small ledge and sat on it.
That's when I heard a click, saw something shoot out of the walls I just climbed up, and the ledge I was sitting on started to move outward.
Thankful that I got up here in time, I crawled across the top of the moving wall and examined the walls here more closely. the ceiling was completely solid, but i saw a small crack in the wall with something poking out of it.
"Is that a switch?" I asked myself, "I wonder if it will help me?"

I wondered if I should flip it, or think more about what it could possibly do.
