As the movie is just about to start, you decide that Mark, your older brother, needs to find another place to watch his beloved war movie.
You run back upstairs and go into your room to get the device to use on Mark. Since you didn't know much about this strange remote except that there were a few inscriptions labeled on the remote as to certain modes of swaps, you decided that Mark should be the first guinea pig.
"Now, how can I get Mark to watch one of his DVDs and give me a moment's peace?" You think to yourself.
An idea pops into your mind and you sneak back into the room, trying not to get Mark's attention. The movie had started, and Mark was already too engrossed in the violence to care what you were doing.
Aiming the device's antennae at Mark, you press the Personality button labeled on the remote. Suddenly, a bright orange beam shoots out of the antennae which illuminates the entire room a dull orange color for a moment. Surprisingly, Mark does not notice the beams of light as they go right into him.
Then, you point the device at yourself and repeat what you did to Mark. The same orange beams hit you in the chest, and your eyesight became very muddled for a few seconds. Gradually, like fine-tuning the lenses of a microscope, your vision returned, and you were still yourself and still observing Mark watching TV.
But then Mark started acting differently.
"Hey Andrew, did you turn this dumb war movie on?" He asked inquisitavely. "You know I hate these movies. I'm going to watch a DVD. You wanna join me?" He asked while walking to his room.
You declined his offer of watching a movie, and you also felt different, like you wanted to watch people being blown to bits by grenade shrapnel, and soldiers firing RPGs into barracks full of Soviet bastards! Wow! You can't believe this movie is finally on! You had been waiting forever for this movie to be on TV!
You restrain yourself. This device really does work, Mark and I have switched our personalities, you think to yourself.
Using all your willpower to avoid sitting on the couch and watching the movie, you fire the orange Personality ray at Mark, whose back was turned to you while he was walking to his room. You fired the device at yourself again and got your own personality back.
Quickly you run over and plop your ass on the couch and turn the channel. Within seconds Mark turns around and starts walking back to watch TV.
"Andrew, what are you doing here? You know I've wanted to watch that war movie for a long time. Now leave." He orders haughtily.
"I don't see your name on the TV, or on the channel changer, for that matter." You counter. "I was here first, anyways."
Seeing you are equally as immovable as Mark was about watching TV, Mark angrily stomps into his room.
After watching a few minutes of TV, you really didn't pay attention to what was on. Instead, you couldn't get over how effective the device is! You are watching a re-run anyways, and with this device you are holding, you can change other people for an amusement you could never get by watching TV!
So you've decided to turn your attention to the device. After all, by changing other people you could get a real laugh out of that!
