Chapter #3

Wander in the downtown shopping district.

    by: Pinetree Author IconMail Icon
You go downtown to the new shopping district. Surrounding you on each side were rows after rows of shops. Some were decent sized such as JC Penny’s while others were small ma and pa shops. You look around and can’t believe how many opportunities there are to use the device. First you just walk around and admire all the new things from the fountain in the middle of what looked like a food court to things you didn’t even care about before such as candles. After wandering you stop in front of a store. The front had two large glass panes filling up the wall only 1 foot in front the edge each direction except the bottom as that was not 1 foot but 3 feet. Inside the windows were mannequins to be exact 4 of them. On the outer sides of each window we’re a mannequin of a grown woman on the left in a black dress with the bottom being angled so one end was lower than the other. On the right side was a mannequin of a grown man in a blue argyle sweater vest and a pair of black dress pants. On the inner parts of the windows were two children sized mannequins. On the left was a mannequin of a little girl wearing a little sundress that was light blue and had both yellow and red flowers. On the right side was a little mannequin of a boy wearing a pair of shorts dyed the color of sand on the bottom end and a red and white tee shirt. “This store seems like it may have some things to wear.” You enter the shop and look around at all the things surrounding you. You can’t believe what you are seeing as you have never seen anything like it before. You look behind the counter and see a elderly man there. He had hair similar to Benjamin Franklin except it looked like clumps of it fell out. He had on a old pair of bifocals made with brass frames. The man couldn’t have been more then 75 years old. His outfit was similar to that of the adult man mannequin but rather than black pants they were a shade of brown. He turned up and said to you in a voice similar to that of a creaking door “Welcome. You are my first customer as we just opened up today. If you see anything you like or are curious about come to me. The name is Benjamin by the way.” At first you are a little weirded out but work up the courage to respond “ok thank you Benjamin.” He gives you a smile as he turns his down again to write down some information. You look around the store. There are a few clothing racks in the middle of the store minus the direct center as there is a table there instead. The clothing racks are different than any you have seen before as they were not your normal metal racks rather they were a heavy wood. The walls looked to be wooden panels on the bottom with some wallpaper above that. The wallpaper had all sorts of designs such as vines. “Well I should begin looking.” You look through a couple cardboard boxes in the corner that were wet on the bottom left corner with water before working your way to the racks. When you think there is nothing you find something you like. It looks like it’s a old fashioned suit from the 1950s. You pick it up and admire the brass buttons on the sleeves. They are designed with designs of lion faces. You pick it up off the rack and turn to Benjamin and he looks at you and yells from across the room “There are some fitting rooms in the back.” You go to the back room and try on the suit. It appears to fit however it appears to be a little damaged on certain parts such as stitching coming loose. After thinking about what to do you remember the remote. You fish it out of your pocket and aim it at the suit “I hope this works.” You say nervously as you turn your head and shield your eyes with your other hand. As you open your eyes to see it does it appear to have worked?

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. It worked the suit looks new

2. The reverse aging on the remote worked too well

*Noteb*
3. Readers choice

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
