Hup. Hup. Hup.
And with every hop, she felt it bounce.
Blff. Blff. Blff.
The festivities celebrating the end of hostilities had been amazing, and had gone on for nearly two weeks -- two weeks of eating, and dancing, and eating, and fireworks, and eating, and eating, and speeches, and eating, until the little acrobat was sure she would burst from either excitement or dumplings. Well, she hadn't burst. But she'd ended up with a little memento of the time all the same.
Ty Lee had developed a pot belly.
It was cute, everyone had told her. You can hardly tell it's there, and anyway, it's a party, Ty Lee, have another bowl of something fattening. Easy for them to say -- she was the one who was going to be back performing in from of the crowds in less than a week! Which is why she was up at the crack of dawn, doing a ten mile run on an empty stomach.
She nearly missed a post. Ugh, she was out of condition, too.
She came to the end of the row of posts. Hmm... she could hang a right and head towards the palace to visit with Mai, see how life as the Fire Lady was treating her... and maybe have herself a very small breakfast?
Or....
Ty Lee glanced left, towards the Garden, which is what they euphemistically called the facility where poor Azula was shut up. The thought made Ty Lee shudder. Azula had gone mad, in the end, and cruelty had swallowed her... and yet she'd been a friend, once. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
