"Ugh."
Tails was lying on his bed with a bandages over the right half of his head.
"W-Why...?" asked someone standing near the bed.
This someone was none other than Cream, one of Tails' close friends. She was 19 by now and has grown up into a very big girl with a very big assets (mostly thanks to her eating a lot of fatty food). Tails could see some tears running down her eyes.
"Cream, I'm-"
"Why does it have to be happening to you?" she said in a sad voice before pulling Tails into a hug, holding him dangerously close to her.

Tails' life is filled with adventures. Ever since the day he became friends with Sonic, when he was only 8, he got willingly involved in a lot of adventures the blue hero was in.
Tails was always there for Sonic, always around to help him when he needs it. He was skilled in creating gadgets, had a flying ability thanks to his two tails and even learned how to spindash from Sonic.
Tails was 21 by now and became taller than Sonic when he was 15. He liked helping Sonic in battles against Dr. Eggman. And even though all the praise was mainly going to Sonic, Tails didn't complain. He was sure his friend deserved that. There was one issue though...

"Mmmfff! Mmmmff!"
"Please, calm down, Cream." the other voice was heard as Tails was getting suffocated with his head buried in Cream's powerful chest. "And let Tails go. He's not completely healed yet. Your hug could hurt him."
Hearing that, Cream gasped and quickly let go and looked back to see her mother, Vanilla, looking at her and Tails with concern.
Cream then looked back at Tails. "I'm so sorry! D-Did I hurt you?!"
"No, Cream, it's alright. Your hug was very soft, actually. I loved it." Tails said with a smile, but then his eyes widened and he covered his mouth with his hand.
"I-I said too much!"
"Hehe, thanks." Cream said, feeling relieved.
Tails then looked at the tall rabbit woman with even bigger assets than Cream's and saw her holding a board with plate and spoon on it.
"Now it's time for your meal." Vanilla said, placing the board on the table next to bed.
"Thanks." Tails said, standing up.
After he ate, Vanilla decided to talk to him about something.
"This is the 16th time this month you get wounded, Tails. Right?" she asked, looking at him with concern.
"I...I think so. I never really took a count." Tails said with a shrug.
Cream's face became sad again. "I-I was so worried about you! When the news told us that the laser hit you..."
Her face started filling with tears. Seeing that, Tails reached his hand to her. Understanding the sign, Cream leaned her head, allowing him to stroke it. A cute little smile appeared on her face.
"Hehe, you've already grown up, but you're still the same cute little Cream." Tails thought, stroking Cream's head.
"You've been getting in danger because of Sonic's actions a lot, Tails. This is terrible." Vanilla said with a frown.

Sonic was a good friend of Tails. However, he was quite reckless during their battles against Eggman. Sonic often acted without thinking about the consequences. There were times when Sonic would forget about the plan Tails told him and go on his way to fight more robots, leaving the fox boy to deal with the trouble it caused. Because of that, Tails would often put a more risk to his life than usual and get some trauma.
It could be a dislocated arm, chest injury, and sometimes even a fracture. The fox boy got used to it by now. Although, Sonic was more careful before, but it seemed that popularity got into his head. At least that what Tails thought.

"Don't worry, Miss Vanilla. I die hard. I'll handle it." Tails said, which caused Vanilla to shook her head disappovingly.
"No, Tails, this is not right." she said as the image of news focusing mostly on Sonic, ran through her head. "The last time you got in trouble, you had to stay in a hospital."
Tails then felt Cream rub her cheek on his hand.
"Sniff sniff" was all that could be heard from her.
Suddenly, Sonic ran into the house.
"Hey buddy! Are you here?"
"W-Wha?" Cream and Vanilla exclaimed in surprise.
"Yes." Tails replied, raising his hand with a slight awkward chuckle.
"Eggman is attacking again. We must go!" Sonic said, grabbing Tails' arm and running towards his plane.
"H-Hey! Where are you-?" Vanilla said in protest, but Sonic didn't hear her as Tails already started the plane and both boys soon flew away.
With a worried look on her face, Cream walked towards her mom.
"B-B-But...Tails hasn't fully recovered yet!"
Vanilla sighed, feeling sad that they can't do anything for now.

Four days after that, Tails was finishing working on another invention. He liked doing so when Eggman wasn't around, attacking the cities.
Luckily, Tails didn't get wounded much after the last attack of Eggman's robots. He only got a few scratches on his arm. Those days were quite enough for him to recover completely.
"Heh, Cream will be so surprised when she finds out I invented a shrink ray!" Tails said, holding the said ray in his right hand. Cream told him she planned to visit him again today. And, according to his calculations, she was going to be here soon.
His shrink ray had a switch that could be used to adjust the size. Tails decided to test it before Cream comes. He choose the size on a switch and was about to shoot at the rat he had in cage for this case, but as he was already pulling the trigger, he suddenly heard a knock on the door.
"Huh?" Tails got distracted and, unbeknownst to himself, turned the shrink ray in the other direction. In result, the shot hit the mirror, bounced off it and ended up hitting Tails. "Ow!"
Tails felt his body start shivering and his head began to spin. The shrink ray hit the floor next to him.
Good thing it didn't last long. After 10 seconds, Tails regained himself. He then looked around in surprise.
"W-What happened?" he asked, seeing that everything seemed to be much bigger now.
However, it didn't take long for him to realize that he became much smaller instead.
