"Jeeze today is another slow day" Ino sighed as she sat at the counter of her families flower stall bored out of her mind.
It was summer and the weather was very hot and humid, no one could be bothered to do anything and so business was slow and so was the ninja community as the number of available missions were lower then usual.
Ino found herself spending her days working at the shop more and more often and never doing anything there. Chouji would often visit since he too had nothing better to do and the two would eat crisps and other snacks whilst converse about past missions they had done where often Ino would talk about herself and her own brilliance but Chouji didn't mind. Whilst he liked hanging out with Shikamaru, he didn't really talk much at all so Ino was a nice change of pace.
Chouji had noticed however that Ino's mannerisms and attitude had changed since Sasuke left and Sakura was constantly busy. The young girl didn't care too much about her appearance as before since she had no one to impress or compete with, and also she would sometimes spend a few days without showering as she sat around and snacked. Ino had defiantly formed a bit of a pot belly during this time as the rest of her body has also put on a bit of weight, not much but compared to her usual stick thin self it did make a difference.
Chouji eventually left Ino and went to his usual meeting spot with Shikamaru, there were some nice clouds in the sky today so Chouji knew he would be there leaving Ino to sit around bored again, eventually deciding to call for a fast food delivery since she had nothing better to do.
However she didn't realize that the longer she lounged around inactive the more likely it would be that her metabolism would change and her body store more of the food as fat. She also didn't realize that this had already happened a bit and it would only get worse if she continued like this, but still, she sat around eating the huge pizza she ordered and drinking her soda until she let out a large belch and just continued ignoring it.
The day continued to pass like this until she finally was able to close shop, her belly showing through as she didn't bother putting on the bandages she normally wore round her midriff. It was then that...
