A store called Franz Joseph Illusions. It was a store run by an old Austrian man who had entertained you at one of your friend's birthday parties. You enter and see a variety of objects ranging from trick coins to grand Illusions such as sawing a lady in half. Suddenly you spot a guillotine; you enquire the old man as to where he found it. He calmly remarks that it is a French guillotine designed by a noble man during the French revolution to save his life. You wonder how a guillotine can save a man's life but do not incur any further on that subject. Instead you ask the old man how much the guillotine costs, and he replies "more than you can afford at the moment but if you like I'll let you barrow it for a week and maybe you can impress you friends by slicing up a watermelon. As long as you let them know it is from Franz Joseph Illusions."
You agree to his terms and help the old man put the guillotine in the back of his truck, and show him where you live. You drop off the guillotine at your house in the garage, and the old man drives away smiling gleefully. You quickly call your girlfriend and ask her to come over. Ten minutes later she arrives and you show her the guillotine. She is delighted with it and wants you to chop some thing with it. You find an old broom handle and ask her if it is ok with her. She promptly replies with a “You bet!” and holds the broom in place under the neck stocks. You look around and find a lever and pull it. You and your girl friend watch the blade closely as it comes screeching down the sides and crashes through the stocks. Then your girlfriend suddenly screams in a blood curdling scream of horror when she realizes her wrist was inside the neck stocks when she was holding the broom handle. You see that where her wrist was is cleanly cut and is not bleeding. In fact your girl friend’s wrist is covered in a layer of newly formed skin.
You then look on the other side and see your girl friend’s hand on the other side. You pick up her hand and see that it is covered in skin just like the end of her arm. Then your girlfriend suddenly asks, “What are you doing?”
You tell her “You picked up her hand to see if it was ok.”
She then says, “I can feel you holding my hand, this is weird.”
You ask her if she can move her hand or wiggle her fingers. She wipes away a few tears and says, ”OK John I’ll try.”
Her face looks strained as she concentrates on her hand then suddenly her fingers begin to wiggle back and forth and she begins to laugh. She then asks, “Can we see if my hand can go back on my arm?”
You then take her hand back over to her and gently place it in her left palm which is still attached. She then carefully raises the hand back to her arm until both sides of the newly formed skin touch. Her wrist suddenly seals up and her hand is once again attached. She smiles twistedly and states, ”Lets try a little experiment!”
She walks over to the guillotine and raises the stocks; she then brushes her hair aside as she places her thin delicate neck inside of the stocks and secures them. You rush over to stop her but it is too late. She pulls the lever and the guillotine comes barreling down again at light speed and slices though her neck. Her head begins to fall as the blade makes contact with the wood base and you leap forward to cushion her head from the concrete floor of the basement. Astonishingly you manage to break her fall and find that where her neck once had been attached is also a fresh layer of skin. You get up and hold your girlfriend’s head and look into her eyes.
She laughs as her head says, “Let’s see if my head can go on your body.”
You take her head cautiously and bring it up to your shoulders, placing it next to yours on your shoulder. You feel a tingle go through your body as her head connects with your skin. Soon after, you realize she has control of your right side of your body as she waves your arm about in the air. ”This is incredible!” she exclaims as your arm flails about aimlessly. She soon stops and realizes that she still has control of her own body!
