Alicia, your youngest patient, walks toward you sneakers striking the tiles with thunderous booms. You scream and start running but the giant child catches up to you in one step. You look up and all you can see is white tred with a pond-sized smear of bubble gum stuck under the toe. The girl slams her foot down on you but instead of splatting into a paste you are pushed into something squishy. The foot raises and you can see the blob of bubble gum surrounding you. "Alicia stop!" you shout, knowing her next step could be your last. Of course, she can't hear you, so you try to pull free but the stick-um of the gum is unyielding.
The foot comes down again and again before you can escape each time smushing you deeper into the gum. When Alicia finally reaches the waiting chair she discards her shoes and you beside her. Now stuck to the vertical cliff of her sketcher's sole you look out and see her socked feet kicking playfully back and fourth. Their motion wafts their smell in your direction and when it hits you, you have no doubt those socks are more than a day old. Alicia is a bit of a tom boy, after all, and you could imagine her running around in her neighborhood day after day without changing her socks. The thought of examining those feet makes you shudder, and while you're trying not to think about it, you forget to think about the gum holding you. Its been gradually loosing its traction and now suddenly before you can attempt to stop your fall it lets go.
