Chapter #4Tenten notices him by: Dylan M   Looking up, Naruto paled as, miles above him, he saw Tenten look down as she stopped walking, her eyes locked on him. At first, he breathed a sigh of relief, she must have felt the slight pressure of his minute body pressing her baggy red pants down as he moved up her leg. Then his eyes went huge as, to his dread, she raised her hand.
"Damn bug..." she muttered and sent it down at him.
Naruto scrambled out of the way, a massive explosion of concussive waves of air nearly ripping him from his perch with its force.
She nearly swat him!
Looking at the hand, it suddenly rushed at him, resembling for all the world, an avalanche as Tenten attempted to brush Naruto off. As it neared, the Uzumaki jumped into it, thankful for the fingerless gloves Tenten wore, and ran along the back of her hand until he jumped off the end and landed back onto her pant leg.
Tenten blinked and frowned at the display. Bugs didn't act that way. So what was up with this one? She attempted to brush it off again with the same results. She kept at it, the process repeating. After three minutes, she grew annoyed and instead aimed a finger at the bug. She tried being nice and just brush it off, but it seemed like this one was aiming for her to pop it into a smear.
Seeing the digit coming, Naruto yelped before lunging like a flea. He grabbed onto the massive fingertip and clutched it for all he could give, shaking in terror.
Raising her finger to her face after feeling the bug land on it, her brown eyes looked upon him closely and carefully before her expression turned to utter astonishment.
"Naruto?!" Tenten gasped, eyes wide.
"Yeah! It is!" Naruto said. Glad that he was good at yelling. Made hearing him easier...
"I don't believe it! You're just...so tiny..." the weapons mistress said.
"I know...you almost stepped on me a second ago." The blond called.
"I WHAT?!" Tenten shouted, horrified. She saw Naruto cringe when she spoke, clapping his hands over his ears. As she did, she winced. "Sorry," she whispered, keeping her voice as low and soft as possible to avoid hurting his ears again.
"You're going to need someone to protect you, you do realize that, Naruto?"
As much as he realized that she had a good point, there was something in her eyes he was bothered by. She looked almost...hungry. Still...
"...Thanks, Tenten..." Naruto said, aiming for a smile.
"No problem...actually, I always loved stories about little people." She said, the look in her eyes turning ravenous.
HUH?! Naruto did NOT like the sound of that! As it hit him, he imagined everything that could happen to him and made a decision in all of three moments: he jumped. Landing splayed on the floor and shocked at the lack of impact damage before realizing the jutsu that shrunk him had more than likely improved his durability, he bolted as fast as he could.
"Hey! Get back here!" Tenten shouted, yet she sounded almost...playful.The next thing Naruto knew was enormous feet clad in equally enormous dark grey sandals crashing down onto the floor, emitting ground shaking BOOMS as they pursued him.
Naruto needed to constantly look over his shoulder due to that, and his concern was all directed at where the massive feet landed as he attempted escape from their owner; fortunately, Tenten seemed to take care to AVOID crushing him. But as he was focused on what was behind and over him, he heard a sharp "thunk" sound ahead of him before Naruto collided with something.Looking at what he'd impacted, he was met with his own reflection within the polished black metal of a kunai knife's flat side. Then with a flurry of similar 'thunk' sounds, he was trapped within a ring of the throwing knives.
The miniature blonde paled as he realized that while he had been utterly focused on her feet, Tenten had taken advantage of that and used her hands. Taking out the kunai and tossing them ahead of him. He was stupid to overlook the possibility of her doing that.
"Gotcha, now...come here." Naruto looked up as the sky was blotted out, then he gasped as he was suddenly rising, only to stop abruptly. Tenten holding him so he dangled in front of her face as she grasped him between her thumb and forefinger. "Fee fi fo fum!" Tenten laughed, "you're gonna be mine from now on, little one!"
"What?!" Naruto yelped. Shocked his friend was acting like this.
"You'll make a great pet." the brunette gushed. "Now, time to get you home. And to keep you from trying to run away..."
Naruto shouted as Tenten flicked her wrist, sending him flying upwards until gravity took hold and sent him back down. As he fell, Naruto gasped as he slammed into what caught him, knocking the wind out of him and in it's place, the scent and touch of well-worn leather took over everything. Shaking, Naruto looked up and saw a row of pillars and as his vision cleared, he gasped as he realized that he was laying face down in the center of the palm of Tenten's hand!
"Don't worry, little one...THIS WON'T HURT A BIT!" Tenten said as her hand curled and he was enveloped on all sides.
"Noooooo!" Naruto screamed, his last sight of the outside world being Tenten's beaming at him before he was trapped inside her fist and she began squeezing him, the pressure making him black out.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
