The interview was long and awkward. You mostly just made stuff up. After the thousandth inane question such as "where do you see yourself in five years?" you thought your were going to go crazy. Nevertheless you pressed on worried that you wouldn't get swapped back if you didn't get the job.
"Well Kari, we'd love to have you on the team," the manager conducting the interview finally said. He handed you all kinds of things including an employee handbook and a checklist of things to do and buy before starting.
You went through the motions on auto pilot accepting or signing stacks of paperwork and checklists hair and clothing diagrams. You tried to make mental note of all the instructions so you could relay them to the real Kari later. Finally you were given Kari's uniform.
"Its been a pleasure Kari, we'll see you in two days," he says warmly as you leave the restaurant with your papers and items in tow. That was quite the hassle.
You go outside and find your mom still waiting in the car. You climb in.
"Well, I got her the job," you announce as you buckle your seat belt. "Can we go change me back now?"
Your mother is barely listening, "Oh sure," she absently says.
