This choice: Amanda says she will get Dinner • Go Back...Chapter #3Dinner and Just Desserts by: Unknown "Stacy, why don't you just relax while I get dinner. It will be ready in a little while."
"Sure, I'll be in the living room watching TV." How would you get through this week with
this lady who didn't seem to have the faintest understanding of your life or lifestyle.
As you sat contemplating this while checking out something on the Sci-Fi channel and
texting a friend. Before long, the smell of pot roast, mashed potatoes, and veggies
cooking hit your nose. Though usually not a big eater, for some reason you find yourself
famished.
"Dinner is served," you hear shortly after, and then head to the table to tuck in.
Soon, you have polished off what she put on your plate and gotten through seconds,
look up to see her smiling at you.
"What?" you mumble over your last mouthful.
"It's just makes me happy to see you enjoy my cooking so much."
"It was just really great, reminded me of when I went to Grams place this last
summer."
"It was nothing...really. I just hope you saved room for dessert. I made something very
special, and I have a wonderful drink to wash it down with."
"Bring it on Amanda, you rock!" you say, puzzling over what you had been upset
about before. Sure, things might be a little different this week, but she could
adjust. Such cooking would be great if this is what it would be like until dad and
mom got home.
As if to rouse you from your thoughts, Amanda returned with pastries and some sort of
dark, fizzing drink.
The smells were like an utterly enchanting aroma, and some part of her kept
wondering if she ought to be nervous. Yet, this taste extravaganza was just
so good she had to have more.
"You know, I'm not allowed to drink alcohol," she told Amanda, with the last shred of
resistance she had.
"Sweetie, I would never do that to you. Everything here is perfectly okay for you,
I promise."
As she crossed her heart and grinned at you, you find any nervousness you might
have had has departed as you take one of the pastries and a swig of the juice, and it
is as if your taste buds light up.
A warm glow seems to engulf you, and the next thing you know you find you're open
somehow. You feel like you might agree to anything, just to keep enjoying this
kind of treatment.
Seeming to sense this, Amanda comes over and takes you by the hand and looks you
you in the eye.
"Now Stacy, we are going to have a wonderful week. But, we are going to need to
make some adjustments."
Without really thinking about it, you answer ,"Sure, I'm okay with that."
"That is just great Stacy. Remember how I told you that I take care of old people.
Well, I suppose I could learn in time to care for young people. But as it is, we don't
have that luxury. So, I need for you to get much older for me. Really, it's for the best
and just for the week. I'll even give you some say in the process, and of course meals
like the one I just cooked all week long. You can either do this gradually or fairly
quickly. I'll leave that choice up to you."
