"Well, there's not much to say, except I too have been alone," Adam said.
"How were you alone if you lived with other humans?" the naga asked him, "You did, didn't you?"
"Yes, but the man who raised me had taken me from my birth parents. He forced me to be his slave treated me cruelly," Adam said. He turned his back to the naga and lifted his shirt to show scars, old and new, from beatings received. The naga recoiled slightly at their sight. She never had to deal with scars. Any wound an animal gave her would heal up and never show sign of its existence.
"Did he give these to you?" the naga asked.
"Yes," Adam replied, "And when I found out he lied, I left him. That was earlier tonight. I wonder if he's looking for me now?" Suddenly there was a huge crash of lightning and the naga pulled Adam to her chest reflexively. She then backed away to the back of the cave. "She's scared of thunderstorms?" Adam wondered. Soon they were in the back of the cave and Adam found himself much warmer as he was being held to the naga's warm body. He felt a little drowsy from it.
