Sarah's one friend

    by: Dragonlord Author IconMail Icon
"What's wrong bird girl?" A bully said knocking Sarah over as his friends threw seeds and worms at her, "Not that hungry?"

The boys laughed as they continued to pelt Sarah with seeds. Sarah shielded her face with her wigs and silently cried as the boys continued to taunt her.

"Get away from her now," Drachzack's angry voice said.

Sarah smiled, Drachzack was her only friend and did what she was afraid to do, defend herself. Sarah had felt that without Drachzack her life would be unberable and that she might have left civilization behind.

Drachzack stood there waiting for a moment before he sighed and straightened up. He turned to Sarah and she saw that kindness had returned to his eyes, as had worry.

"Are you ok Sarah?" he asked.

"Yes," Sarah said blushing a bit, "I'm fine."

"Then we need to get back to the orphanage now," Drachzack said turning and looking both ways before exiting the alley.

"Why?" Sarah asked running to catch up with her friend.

Drachzack turned and looked her in the eyes and said, "Because...
